GCrypto: Agents of Peace and Love

Over the years, GCash has continuously strived to innovate and expand its portfolio in order to meet the growing needs of Filipinos nationwide.

In April 2023, GCash delved into the world of NFTs and cryptocurrency with the launch of GCrypto, a feature in the app aimed at streamlining digital currency access for those shifting from physical assets. And in January of this year, GCrypto took a significant step in establishing itself as a prominent medium between various art groups and local artists by initiating a collaboration between two acclaimed figures: street artist Bitto and Grammy-winning Black Eyed Peas member Apl.de.ap.

This joint effort, orchestrated by the GCrypto team, formed part of their overarching objective to bridge the gap between the physical and digital spheres, particularly emphasizing the role of art within this transition. The resulting collection, dubbed the Agents of Peace and Love, embodied a harmonious fusion of these diverse art forms. At the heart of this launch was an original painting by Bitto, accompanied by a music NFT by Apl.de.ap, auctioned to support the Apl.de.Ap Foundation, dedicated to aiding disadvantaged youth.

The program began with a panel discussion featuring Apl.de.ap and Bitto, providing insights into their collaborative process and the resonance of art creation and integration. Following the discussion, the auction commenced, attracting bids that ultimately resulted in a winning offer of P310,000, surpassing the initial starting bid of P150,000. The event concluded on a high note with a performance by Apl.de.ap, showcasing a brand-new single and further highlighting the synergy between art and music.

In addition, this launch garnered significant media interest, fueled by the story's originality and the presence of prominent personalities, leading to a total media value of P5,450,033.50, with a PR value of P16,350,100.50.
